The Decision Making & Aging Study involves participants coming into the lab on five separate occasions for neuropsychological testing, a decision making battery, functional and structural MRI, and two transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) sessions for stimulation of the target or control stimulation site. The clinical trial component concerns only the last two sessions where subjects will be randomly assigned to different groups to receive different TMS interventions.
An Institutional Review Board responsible for human subjects research at The University of Arizona reviewed this research project and found it to be acceptable, according to applicable state and federal regulations and University policies designed to protect the rights and welfare of participants in research.
This study aims to better understand how decision making changes with age.
The sessions and approximate time taken are presented below.
Participants may receive up to $200 for their participation.
